Hiding foods or other things is a survival skills that’s innate to our pets. They wanna save for “later” consumption. This can also be a sign that your dog is stress or anxiety. It rooted from their background, since they were puppies or from previous owners.
They most likely got bullied or deprived of food and toys. Now that they see a lot, or over from what they can consume, they tend to hide and protect it.
For whatever reason, be observant and try to observe how frequent the hiding is and what items do they love to secretly place on their spot. Just don’t let bury your valuables like cellphones, earrings and watches.
Look around your house, there might be a hidden treasure just waiting to be discovered. Just like pooch that bury his toys underneath his blanket. It’s so hidden that no one would notice it right? Let’s pretend it’s not there. His fur parent loves it and gives him more.
Aside from things, what else they love to hide? They love hiding their fluffy bodies! You could see them hiding behind the curtains, a plant, and the couch or even behind your legs. Dogs are so adorable. These small acts truly can put rainbow to your everyday life.
Sometimes too much can be annoying right? despite those personal emotions that you may have. Never punish the dog that will cause extra stress to them.
Minor hit, or shouting or taking away from the things that they like without something in return will somehow put stress on them. Instead of teaching them a positive thing, their behavior might worsen .
